Why Bonnie
Bonnie Benesh Pilates was built on something I wish I had when I started teaching: real support.
Not another certification.
Not more choreography to memorize.
No pressure to “teach it right.”
I know what it feels like to be the new instructor trying to keep up, teaching from the manual because that feels safe, and still wondering why it doesn’t feel easy and natural. I’ve been the overworked teacher who thought confidence would come if I just learned more exercises and watched more videos.Â
What actually changed things for me?
Understanding the why behind the exercises.
Having honest conversations.
And having someone in my corner when real teaching questions came up.
After 20+ years of teaching and mentoring, I’ve seen it all. The teachers who grow aren’t the ones who know the most exercises — they’re the ones who learn to trust themselves, adapt, and think beyond the pages of the manual.Â
This space is about that.
Building skill. Finding your voice. Teaching in a way that feels strong and grounded and authentic.Â
And not doing it alone.
When you work with me, you get:
- Someone who’s still in it. I’ve been teaching in the same gym for 20 years. I’m not coaching from the sidelines — I’m in real rooms with real clients every week.
- Honest conversations. I’ll tell you that teaching won’t feel great every day. You will doubt yourself. You may need to break up with a client. That doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re teaching.
- Permission to be fully you. You won’t know as much as someone else. None of us do. But no one else can teach the way you can. I’ll push you to keep learning — not to copy, but to refine your voice.
Working with me feels like having someone in your corner who gets it, who’s lived it and who will challenge you, steady you, and remind you what you’re capable of when you forget.
Support for Pilates teachers — at every stage.
Teaching Pilates can feel isolating.
You're expected to know the answers, follow the system, manage clients, and somehow figure out your own voice along the way.
Here, education goes beyond choreography and manuals. This is about understanding why you teach the way you do, learning how to adapt in real time, and building confidence that carries into every class, private, and conversation with a client.
Whether you're newly certified, years into teaching, or somewhere in between — you don't have to figure it out alone.
